Positions: 1 Experience (Years)

Responsibilities:
Stantec is inviting applications for a Full time Junior Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Sites Group in Burnaby, BC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
-  Soil, groundwater and surface water sampling;
- Drilling investigations;
- Site investigations (Phase 1 and 2);
- Site remediation;

As the training progresses, you will be expected to supervise remediation and drilling contractors. Hands-on experience in the field will progress towards project management and directing others in the field. Report writing and client contact will become an important component of the position. Ideally we are seeking candidates with strong people skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Interest in sustainability and green development along with consulting experience are desirable skills.

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree/Diploma in Science or Engineering.
. 0-2 years of industry or consulting experience is preferred.
- A working knowledge of and ability to interpret British Columbia and Canadian environmental regulations, guidelines and standards.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to perform QA/QC on work products.
- The ability to travel, generally in the province of British Columbia
