Java/Oracle Developer needed by fast-growing Ottawa startup

Our client delivers a first-of-its-kind multi-modal notification system that enables organizations to increase customer loyalty, improve performance and reduce costs via streamlined communications to employees, customers and targeted groups of people. Benbria BlazeCast® empowers organizations with accountability, escalation and resolution of routine tasks and critical issues by enabling faster delivery and response to vital information through cross-media communications.

Due to recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Java/Oracle Developer to round out our client’s development team. We are looking for an expert Java developer with extensive Oracle db experience who is interested in learning new technology and fast-tracking their careers to the next level. This is a newly created position.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the Oracle Database and RAC clusters
Responsible for database security, performance tuning, data backup and recovery
Manage cluster configuration & load balancing configuration
Design, implement and maintain complex software systems
Object Oriented Design and development
Manage scalable system design

Qualifications
Solid programming skills
Understanding and experience with Java, SQL
Proficient at Python, Scala, Erlang or other functional languages
Experience with scripting languages
Experience with concurrency design
Linux/Unix proficiency
VoIP telephony (SIP, PBX, CTI) experience preferred
