Department Name: Logistics
Reports to: UPS Product Manager
Office Location: Dubai, Leatherneck, Kabul, Kandahar, Bagram

Position Purpose: General statements regarding the overall objective of the position. The Afghanistan country manager ensures the Afghan offices’ operations align with the organization’s mission, strategic objectives and policies.

Responsibilities/Duties/Function Tasks:

List of material responsibilities and essential duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position

Profit and Loss results accountability and responsibility for Afghanistan
Management of station managers at each of the 4 Afghan offices
Focus on execution of operations in Afghanistan
Oversight of all Afghan projects

Business Development

Ensuring the organization complies with local laws and regulations
Liaising with management at head office and providing reports on activities
Representing the organization at meetings
Budgeting for annual results
Ensuring the proper staff, facilities and services are in place in order to execute work
Ensuring proper financial controls are in place at all Afghan offices
Qualifications: Statements regarding minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, required certifications, etc.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree
3 to 4 years of experience in an international environment

Special Position Requirements: Any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to the position

Regular high risk travel to Afghanistan required. All stations must be visited regularly

Must be in good physical condition and be able to work lomng hours and perform a wide range of physical work
Preferences: Preferred attributes for the position, but not absolutely essential (i.e.. Multi-lingual, master’s degree, etc.)

1 year Field Experience in Afghanistan or other “austere” posting
